Bełżec: The Trees were Witnesses
A Polish science researcher I met told me that the trees at the Bełżec concentration camp were studied and scientists found that the rings corresponding to the time of operation were affected by the trauma. The rings differed from those of years before and afterwards. There have been many studies of people affected by inherited trauma and the transmission of emotions and experiences from one generation to another, but this was a new discovery about those trees in Bełżec who were silent witnesses to genocide.
